So if you haven't checked out the latest pictures I've taken you should take a look. I took about a month off of snapping shots (because I filled my memory card up) but I'm resuming my earlier pace of at least one picture a day.

Included in the pix is a hilarious image of a mall I visited a couple weeks ago. It's my hometown mall and as Brad and I rolled inside, he pointed out a couple of kids who were loitering right next to a sign that said "No Smoking No Loitering Permitted with 200 feet of the mall". I told him I'd take a picture when I came back outside. When we finished our task and retreated, however, the kids were gone. They had been replaced, fortuitously, with a pair of adults who were not only loitering next to the sign, but smoking at the same time! Only in Funchester...

There's also a picture of a guy on one of those low-rider bikes, except this was pimped out in solid chrome. I've seen the guy before, but I've never been quick enough on the gun to snap his mug. This time, I caught him perfectly in profile. Yes, those are faux chrome pipes coming off the back. No, they serve no purpose. Other than to get the women who want to "go for a ride". Yeah.

Um, by "more than anything else" I mean, I miss driving. I don't really miss anything else at all.

So I have a spare gmail invite, if anyone wants it. Applicants must be willing to send lots of messages using it and sign up lots of their own friends, etc. etc.

The weekend front is a little late now. Suffice it to say that my wallet was hurt. My total net worth has been taking a beating over the past few weeks, so yesterday I broke down and executed my emergency liquidity plan. I'd been resisting for two months, but a two day gap caused the eventual demise of my plan. If I had just been able to hold out until tomorrow, everything would've been fine, but it was not to be.

Last night I had a weird moment where it felt like I was back in high school. The combination of a twisty road, a small car and summer air is hard to beat, even if I hold no desire to wax nostalgic about days gone past. It is odd, to be sure, that I would hold any sentiment for my past, given that life seems to be a continuous upward escalator. Still, even halfway up a mountain, it is cool to look back and say "Hey, I can see base camp from here!" The only real nostalgia I still possess is much more recent, namely, for my car. I miss driving more than anything else...

3 men. Six banks. 300 grand. These guys must be pretty good. So far no one has been injured, although the DC Police are "on the case". Yeah, I used quotes.

Hmm. I guess the Iraqis like their old flag better than the pansy-assed one Bremer chose for them. I guess they really are a sovereign nation now!

Maybe next week we'll let them repeal the flat tax...

Plenty to recap. Not enough time. Perhaps tomorrow...

Saw the movie last night. Despite being very tired (we saw a midnight showing) it was quite good. There are good moments of humor and seriousness, with many points made throughout the film. Go see it today!

The Post bites the bait. Front page, no less! With a picture too. Nice to see someone following Salon's lead on this. Once the Post picks it up, it won't let go...helped along by the fact that the Moonies own the Washington Times.

I was up until past midnight working on a server issue at the office. Not a good way to spend a Tuesday evening.
