In the absence of new elftor comics, I am forced to find new ways to waste my time. I think I've found a gem:

The Best Page in the Universe. A little presumptuous? Try reading the article about extreme stuff. A great read. Inappropriate for everyone, of course, but still incredibly funny. Then try reading some long needed car reviews. It's a blast. And finally, don't forget to exercise your political need to compare Bush to a tic-tac.

I just found this list of Bush/Cheney 04 slogans for bumper stickers. Very amusing. Three of my favorites from the group:

In Africa the elephants screw each other - In America the elephants screw the people

Bush/Cheney - less CIA, more CYA

Bush/Cheney 04: Fulfilling the soft bigotry of low expectations since November 2000!

To read them all, just click on the "comments" section. You never know, sometimes a Republican or two reads this list and needs some additional instructions.

Things are getting out of control. With the 9-11 report coming out today, the situation will only heat up more. It should be entertaining for all, especially if Condi gets the axe. After they already ignored the "land wars in asia" maxim, the administration is learning that the "don't mess with the cia" rule is even more dangerous to forget.

This guy has been following the Valerie Plame story since it began. And I think that now, in the 24-7 news cycle, the administration will have to eventually answer this meme. Killing the bad boys of Iraq was good for one day, but between the shootings in NYC and the ongoing shootings in Iraq, reporters will eventually turn on this little nugget of hypocrisy from the Bush Administration.

The pro-Administration spin is that the CIA outed its own covert agent. Uh, sure. If that's the wingnut's defense, they're crazier than I thought.

In addition to my regular work load (today I have to recompile a kernel, keep working on the webpage, and do random other stuff) I also am helping out the good folks at deandefense.org with a new, super-cool website.

To that end, I threw together some mock stuff and am currently playing around with it. Since i know the dredwerkz viewership is fairly small (if that) I figure the few people who browse over can take a look and offer suggestions...taken with the proverbial grain of salt.

Here's the model site. Every few minutes it looks vastly different, thanks to the power of css, but eventually I'll stop messing around with it, knock heads with the other DDF people, and produce something that actually looks good. Until then...

More research here on Valerie Plame. Hopefully this will be the final straw. You can't just do this to DO types and expect to get away with it.

Read this Krugman column. Normally I'd prefer Paul to weigh in on matters of the economy, but I'm glad that someone is pointing out the rank hypocrisy of a "Patriotic" White House blowing someone's cover in retribution. Even if Mrs. Wilson turns out to not be an operative, the fact that someone would say she was would be just as damaging. The White House has gone too far.

Between Lance's great performance yesterday and tons of work, I didn't get a chance to weigh in on anything. So today I'll try to improve a bit.
