So I come into work this morning after working here until after midnight last night, and find my daily copy of CQ Today on my desk. What's the front story? Why it's this little gem, from the mind of Barbara Cubin. Probably one of the more offensive things I've seen today. Maybe she'll get burned by the media in the end. Maybe not. I certainly hope so.

Captured al Qaeda operations chief Khalid Sheik Mohammed has told interrogators that his organization had plans to attack the Metrorail system in Washington, possibly by igniting a fire, according to law enforcement officials.
Lighting a fire? Lighting a fire? Yes, the entire metrorail system would probably be shut down, much like when tractor-man came to town. But we're talking terrorism here. Even on September 11th, with the pentagon station out of commission (the rumor was it had been damaged...which proved to be false) the metro system continued to function normally. So why would a fire make things any different? In reality, they'd just add to the usual complications that confront metro passengers.
And, come on, really. How much expertise does it take to bring a lighter into the metro and set something ablaze? We're not talking a sophisticated attack here, right? Why not threaten to at least have explosives? An eight year-old could light something on fire.

Today I located this website...an attempt to draft Wesley Clark to run on the Dems ticket. Clark is well spoken, very knowledgeable, and can list "Supreme NATO Commander" on his resume. He'd be a strong veep for almost any contender. So buzz over there and check it out.

I've had to listen to it for months...so it's nice to finally strike a blow back for even-handedness.

Coming back from warm sand, bright sun and great weather to a city filled with rain, 45 degree highs and gray skies has been somewhat of a shock. But now that I'm back, posting will once again commence. Sorry to all for the delay.
